There's little at Dr. Scott Galkin 's office that isn't new, but the basis of his practice has deep roots indeed.
That's because Dr. Scott's tenure at the Amboy Ave. business makes the second generation a Galkin has set up an orthodontist practice in Woodbridge.
The 38-year-old orthodontist inherited the business from his father, Dr. Samuel Galkin, seven years ago. The senior Dr. Galkin started his practice in Woodbridge in 1963, and eventually brought his son into the family business.
That's a lot of braces over the years. And a lot of changes.
"We got digital x-rays, an updated computer system my dad didn't have. The office got a facelift. It's the same building but everything is new over the last 5 to 7 years," said Galkin, who has a modern website as well.
Now Scott Galkin is treating not just the children, but the grandchildren, of the patients who first came to his father.
"We see a lot of the kids, and now their kids, of the children my father treated," he said.
